What is 'Workflow'?

Definition

A workflow is the path a work item takes from creation to completion. In Jira, workflows are made up of statuses (the stages of work) and transitions (how work moves between stages). Atlassian’s definition is straightforward: workflows represent your real process, not an idealized one—so a good workflow mirrors how your team actually works, while still making it easy to see what’s next, what’s blocked, and what “done” means.
