What is 'Work-item'?
Definition
A work item is Jira’s umbrella term for the things you track—tasks, bugs, requests, features, and more. Atlassian notes that work items were formerly called “issues,” and they represent the individual pieces of work that need to be completed. Depending on the team, a work item might be a helpdesk ticket, a project task, or a software bug—but the purpose is the same: make work visible, owned, and trackable.
