What is 'Subtask'?
Definition
A subtask is a smaller unit of work that lives under a parent work item. It’s useful when a task is still “one thing” at a high level, but needs a few trackable steps owned by different people. Atlassian’s Jira guidance describes work items moving through workflows to completion, and subtasks let you assign and track pieces of that work individually—without losing the context of the bigger item.
