What is 'DX'?
Definition
Developer experience (DX, sometimes called DevEx) is about what it actually feels like to build software day to day—where the friction is, what slows people down, and what makes work satisfying (or exhausting). Atlassian describes DX as developers’ lived experience, including the obstacles they hit and the emotional impact of those obstacles. Improving DX usually means removing bottlenecks in tooling, processes, and collaboration so teams can ship reliably without burning out.
