Create
The Test Case Architect agent in Rovo reads a requirement and proposes Test Cases for it. You choose the proposals you want. The agent then creates them in Jira, with preconditions and steps, already linked to the requirement.
Start the agent from a requirement
- Open the requirement, for example an Epic or a Story. Your Testing Project defines which work types are requirements. See About Requirement.
- In the Test Management panel, click Create with Rovo Agent.

The Rovo panel opens with the Test Case Architect agent. ATM sends the request “Can you help me generate Test Cases?” for you and sets the requirement as the context.
While the agent works, it shows each step. It analyzes the request, checks that the work item is a requirement, chooses the Testing Project, and gets the work item details.
Review the proposed Test Cases
The agent replies with a list of Proposed Test Cases. Each proposal has a name, a precondition, and a table of steps with Action, Data, and Expected Result.

At the end, the agent asks which proposals to create in Jira. It expects their numbers, separated by commas.
Below the question, Rovo suggests follow-up questions, for example “Can you add negative test cases?”.

Create the Test Cases
- Type the numbers of the proposals you want, separated by commas, for example 1, 3. Send the message.
- The agent gets the required fields. Then it shows a Please review card with the Create Test Cases action.
- On the card, check the Testing Project name and each Test Case with its precondition and steps. At the bottom, check Required Fields.
- Click Confirm selected. The card also has a Cancel button.

The agent creates the Test Cases and replies with a link to each new Test Case.

What the new Test Cases contain
- The Test Case is linked to the requirement with the link type set in your Testing Project. In the sample project, the requirement lists it as “is tested by”.
- ATM Test Type is Manual.
- ATM Preconditions holds the precondition from the proposal.
- The steps are in version V1, marked as Default.
- ATM Repository is empty, so the Test Case isn’t in any folder.

To put the new Test Cases in a folder, set ATM Repository on each of them. See Test Repository. To learn more about step versions, see Steps Versioning.
The Test Management panel on the requirement doesn’t update on its own. Refresh the requirement page to see the new Test Cases in the panel.

Other ways to create Test Cases
- To write a Test Case yourself, use the Jira Create button. See Create Test Case.
- To start a Test Case from the requirement without AI, click Create a new Test Case in the same panel. See Coverage with Test Case.
- To create many Test Cases at once, import them from an .xlsx or .xls file. See Import.
