Jira Space
In Appsvio Test Management (ATM), you decide in which Jira spaces your Test Cases and other testing objects live. You make this choice in a Testing Project. A Testing Project sits above Jira spaces. For each testing object, it defines the space and the work type. Only a Jira administrator can change this configuration. See Testing Elements.
Test Cases in one space or in several spaces
In one Testing Project, Test Cases have exactly one space and work type. The same applies to Test Plans, Test Campaigns, and Test Executions. A space and work type can be mapped as one of these objects in only one Testing Project.
So all Test Cases of a Testing Project are in one space. Each Testing Project also has its own Test Repository.
To keep Test Cases in several spaces, use several Testing Projects. Independent teams in your company should each have their own Testing Project.
Test Cases in a dedicated space or with other testing objects
You can configure a Testing Project to keep Test Cases in a dedicated Jira space. The alternative is one space for all types of testing objects.
Test Cases in a dedicated space
A separate space for Test Cases gives you freedom in permissions. You can set permissions for Test Cases separately from Test Executions and from planning in Test Plans. In Jira, these are the Project Permissions of each space. See Permissions.
All testing objects in one space
All testing objects are work types of the same space. This makes onboarding easier, so the sample project is created this way. See Quick Start.
Group Test Cases within a space
Inside a space, you can group Test Cases further:
- In folders of the Test Repository. See Test Repository.
- With Jira fields, such as Components or custom fields, and JQL. See Using Jira Fields.
