Migration from Xray

You can move your test cases from Xray to Appsvio Test Management (ATM). You export the Test Cases from Xray with an ATM template and then import the Excel (.xlsx) file into ATM. The migration works with both Xray Cloud and Xray Data Center.

What you can migrate

• ATM imports only Test Cases. Test Plans, Test Executions, and Test Case Executions aren’t part of the migration.
• Each Test Case keeps all its fields and its test steps. For the fields and custom field types the import supports, see How columns are imported.
• Each Test Case keeps its folder. The Xray folders become folders in the ATM Test Repository.
• Attachments on test steps don’t move with the file. To keep them, see Test Cases with step attachments.

Choose a migration path

Test Cases without step attachments

1. Export the Test Cases from Xray with the Document Generator template for ATM. See Export from Xray.
2. Import the file into ATM without changes. See Import.

Test Cases with step attachments

An export and import through an Excel (.xlsx) file can’t carry attachments from test steps. To keep them, combine Atlassian’s migration tool with the ATM import:

1. Migrate the Test Cases with Atlassian’s migration tool.
2. Import the test steps with the ATM import. See Import.

Check the migrated folders

After the import, open the ATM Repository tab in your space. The folders match the Xray folders you exported. See Test Repository.
