What’s new: Last Quarter of 2024
Read our guide on What’s new: Last Quarter of 2024 on the Appsvio blog.

Hello, Dear Readers! This time we are sharing updates from the whole quarter! The last three months of 2024 have been filled with new releases, events, and team-building time (and of course lots of Christmas vibes, at the end!). So, let’s explore what happened.
Product Updates
Issue Templates Agent for Jira
From now on, you can import or export issue templates. When you have an extensive template library, it is good to have a backup – export the templates to be sure they won’t be missed due to unexpected errors. Also, it’s a very useful feature when migrating templates from sandboxes to production instances or when you need to update templates in bulk.
For further time-savings, we have introduced new bulk actions – now you can easily change the project and the issue type or delete templates from the configuration in one go. We know that with lots of templates, comes the responsibility of organization, but don’t worry – the new audit log will lend you a helping hand. As we have joined App Editions Program, this feature is available in the Premium version of the app! If we interested you, even the smallest bit, get it here.
Continuing with another happy news, both for child and parents templates, we have expanded our support of UI fields. Currently, for the child templates, we added the field multi-user picker. When it comes to the parent ones – we extended it to the field ‘Affect versions’.
Lastly, Jira now supports multiple concurrent UI modifications apps. This means that up to five UIM apps can now run for a given combination of project, issue type, and view type. Thanks to this change, there won’t be problems if more than one app uses UI modification, such as Issue Templates Agent and ScriptRunner. So go ahead, users!
Feature Bundle
The additional fields feature supports the subtasks and parent fields! You can display those two in additional field values panels to show incident complexity and the road to resolution.
Also, for newbies, there is a fresh Get Started page at the very beginning!
And here is one of the reviews, which we received from our user, Christian. Enjoy slightly smiling face
“Feature Bundle” by Appsvio is a great add-on for Jira, providing, amongst other things, the possibility of displaying extra information on the portal. At times, it is really appreciated to be able to provide portal-only customers the possibility of seeing, for example, data from other linked Jira tickets that would otherwise not be visible on the portal. Also, being able to display explanations of the next steps a ticket will be going through can be useful to provide an extra layer helping portal-only customers better understand the underlying workflow. The team at Appsvio is always quick and happy to help out, providing amazing support, even developing new features from customer suggestions, as they constantly strive to make this great add-on even better than it already is.
Great job to the whole team.
Feature Bundle Data Center
We’re also excited to share updates on the data center version of our popular Jira Service Management app! This quarter, we’ve introduced Additional Values, a feature previously available only on the cloud version. Now, you can display helpful details for your clients right within the request view, including the fields, which are part of an issue type, not just a request type. Assignee, due date, linked issues, subtasks, and much more – the world is your oyster.
We have also added an option of a ‘Description’ field in the ‘Edit request’ window, to help you give your customers the support and means of communication they deserve. In order to improve visibility, we have added some new options: clients can now see the assignee’s time zone—a great feature for international support—and the time a ticket has spent in its current status. You’ll find the configuration options right within the project, allowing administrators to customize panel availability on tickets with ease. Our goal is to support a wide range of system and custom fields, so that you can smoothly create a service page tailored to your needs and show the most professional side of yourself in front of your customers.
Additionally, we’ve enhanced our Request Steps functionality. Now, stages can be defined not only by ticket status but by any field value, thanks to new JQL support. We’ve also made configuration easier by adding the ability to copy settings between request types and projects, saving time and making setup a breeze.
To get access to the new features, remember to update our app to the latest version.
Custom Fields Suite
Small but mighty change for new users. We added the Get Started site to make using advanced custom fields as smooth as possible. Even if you’re our long-term user, check this out – maybe there will be something new for you slightly smiling face
